My Water Marbling Progress

This is the 3rd time I've tried my hand (literally) at water marbling.

Let me say there's been some definite progress and although they're far from perfect, I'm making improvements!

My base for this mani was a single coat of OPI Dulce De Leche.

I used all OPI polishes for this water marble including: Cajun Shrimp, La-Paz-Itively Hot, Alpine Snow, Barefoot in Barcelona, and (on my left hand only) Be-Claus I said so.

My left hand turned out pretty awful, besides my thumb nail which is by far the best water marble I've ever done.

I'm mostly going to blame the glitter I used on my left hand, it makes my nails look dirty.

But about that thumb...

Minus the glitter, this is what I aspire for all of my nails to look like when I water marble.

If you're interested in tracking my progress here's the last water marble I attempted.

Dreamcatcher Nails

I've always had a fascination with Native American culture. I've also always loved dreamcatchers.

I keep one hanging from my bed frame at home to filter my dreams and thoughts and only let the good ones through. I'm not sure if it works the same when the dreamcatchers are painted on your nails, but hey it's worth a shot!

For this manicure, I started out with 2 coats of Essie Under Where?. Then I used Finger Paints Ch-Art-Coal Black to draw the frames of the dreamcatchers.

The feathers were drawn with Finger Paints Hip Hip Hue-Ray!. I also used Hip Hip Hue-Ray for the beads along with Essie Come Here!.

Unfortunately, my top coat smeared my index finger, but other than that I was intensely in love with these nails!

Now that I'm done with school I've got way too much free time, so expect lots of posts and nail designs from me!

Sunflowers and Bling-flowers

My teacher's been asking me to do sunflowers on her nails for the last few weeks. So as a graduation present (wait, aren't I supposed to be the one getting the presents?!) I did them for her.

She also had some rhinestones she gave me to play around with. So along with the sunflowers, I did some bling-flowers (yup, I'm calling them that).

In my opinion, the bling-flowers are a little too outrageous for me! Maybe as an accent nail, but with all of them.. too much!

I used OPI Alpine Snow for the base. The yellow for the sunflowers is Sinful Colors Morning Breath and the eye of the flower is Sinful Colors Flower Girl (what a coincidence!) with specks of Finger Paints Ch-Art-Coal Black.

Sunflowers are definitely my favorite flower. If anyone ever bought me a bouquet, they would win my heart over.

Hope all my lovely followers enjoyed their weekend!

Fancy Smancy Nails

My teacher recently showed me how to do acrylic overlay with diamonds underneath the acrylics and I fell in love.

I had my classmate Erika do it to my nails for my last week of school.

The best thing about these is that when you touch my nails, they feel completely smooth.

The diamonds are sealed between two layers of acrylic overlay so there's no way for them to fall off!

I added China Glaze Glistening Snow and Finger Paints Hip Hip Hue-Ray! to my other fingers and made it a classy and sparkly french/diamond combo.

Overlay is definitely going to be one of my top options for my nails once I start working because it won't get messed up every time I do a mani!

I finished all my hours for nail school this week so now I just have to complete a graduation packet then I can apply for my license!! Needless to say I'm beyond excited :)

Bow Nails

I wanted a simple delicate design the other day. While browsing nails on Instagram I saw a really cute bow that I just had to try out.

I started these nails out with 3 coats of OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy.

This polish is very sheer (hence me putting 3 coats on). Usually I use it for french manicures and it looks lovely!

For the bow, I used Finger Paints Hip Hip Hue-Ray! (cutest name) and added a diamond for that extra little sparkle.

Unfortunately, this design didn't last me long. With working on clients, my nails quickly got stained with other polishes. I enjoyed them while they lasted though!

Workin' On My Acrylics Part 2

First off, I can't believe it's been a week since I've posted! I've been so busy with school that I haven't had much time for anything else.

The good news is I'm graduating on Friday. And I finally got my acrylics down :)

Here are my beauts fully polished! These nails were done on the Admissions Officer at my school.

Here are the nakey acrylics. (Proof that I did them- kind of!)

I did these nails last Tuesday night and they're still holding strong. Needless to say I'm super proud of myself.

I wish I could remember the nail of the polish I used. I know it was OPI! For the accent nail, I used OPI Dot.com over the other polish.

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

Cheetah French Manicure

Now that I've been able to (mostly) keep my nails long and strong, french manicures have become one of my favorite things to wear.

This particular manicure I decided to jazz up a bit with cheetah print!

I started out with a regular french manicure. I used Sinful Colors Bad Chick and OPI Coney Island Cotton Candy.

For the cheetah print I used OPI La-Paz-Itively Hot and Pure Ice Black Out.

When I was doing these, I went to go grab my black striper polish only to realize I don't have a black striper polish! So I just used a super thin nail art brush to outline my pink dots.

I am so totally in love with these. I'm being one of those really annoying people that's shoving my nails in everyone's face and saying "look!", haha :)

These nails are elegant, but also have a splash of sass to them which is what I love.

Happy Monday to all!
(I can't believe it but this is my second to last week of nail school, so close to being a nail tech!!)

Strawberry Fields Forever

Fruit nails are so summery to me. Strawberry nails have been on my to-do list for a while and I finally got around to actually doing them!

I started these adorable nails out with two coats of OPI Red.

For the seeds I used Sinful Colors Morning Breath. I decided to use a dotting tool for a more organized look.

The leaves were done with Stripe Rite Green.

I got so many compliments on these nails which I was a little surprised about because they were so easy to do!

Definitely want to do more fruit nails before the summer's over :)

Gold Gradient Nails

I did these nails for my old roommate's new roommate (confused yet?). She wanted something for the Fourth of July that she could keep on afterwards without being too flashy.

We decided a white and gold gradient would be best!

I started out with two layers of OPI Alpine Snow. Then I sponged Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden on the base of the nails.

She told me it was the longest she had kept polish on in a while. Guess I did my job!

Happy Tuesday, hope everyone's week is off to a good start :)

Fourth of July Flag Nails

As promised I did my nails for the Fourth of July today!

I did flag nails, but unlike my teacher's nails, I spread the flags across both hands.

For my left hand I started with two coats of Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist. The stars were done with Sinful Colors Bad Chick.

My right hand was done with OPI Alpine Snow. I did the stripes with Sinful Colors My Day.

The stripes didn't turn out perfect but I did them with my left hand so I'm pretty proud regardless!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July!

Workin' On My Acrylics

Acrylics have probably been the biggest challenge for me at nail school, but I love a good challenge and have been slowly but surely progressing.

First I'll show you some acrylics (and art) I did in my first few weeks of nail school.

These are my classmate's nails. I only did one of her hands and one of my other classmates did her other hand.

Unfortunately these acrylics popped off by the next day. I was proud of the art I did on them though! Simple and pretty.

These are acrylics I did on my teacher last week. I also polished her and gave her the flag!

I'm not sure how her acrylics are holding up but she told me I'm doing much better and I can see my progress too.

I polished her nails with Essie Azure. I love the details you can see in the polish in these pictures.

I've got a few more flag/patriotic nails to do before Fourth of July tomorrow. The rain's keeping me indoors so maybe I'll have time to do them and post them later on today!

Baby You're a Firework

It's not quite Fourth of July yet so I feel a little silly adorning my nails with American flags and the like.

But it is almost Fourth of July so I wanted to do some somewhat patriotic nails without them being too much.

Red, white, blue and gold fireworks are my solution :) The base of this manicure is two coats of Pure Ice Black Out.

For the fireworks I used Sinful Colors Bad Chick, Milani Art of Gold, Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist, and Sinful Colors My Day.

The diamonds are from Michael's. You can find so many good nail supplies there for so much cheaper than Beauty Stores!

To apply the diamonds I put a dab of topcoat on my nails and used a tweezers to place them. I also applied topcoat over the diamonds to seal them on.

I really adore my ring finger and kind of wish I would've done all my nails with the white and gold, but the blue and red give it that little extra patriotism!

Thanks for stopping in :)
