Donut Nails

What could be better than donuts? A donut manicure!

Delicious, no?

How to do these adorably fun nails, you ask? Good news for you, they're pretty easy.

I started out with a coat of Revlon Gray Suede. My favorite nude everrr if you recall.

Then I just painted Julep Niecy on the tips. It doesn't have to be perfect. I actually purposefully tried to make it uneven so it would look like the icing on a donut.

To make it look more clean and add some 'pop' I outlined the pink in Sally Hansen French Manicure Natural White.

To finish them off I added 'sprinkles' of Nina Ultra Pro Blu Blaze and Julep Blake with a nailart brush.

They look good enough to eat!

Thanks for reading (:

Ruffle Manicure

Good morning! Today I'm rocking a really interesting, intricate looking manicure, but really it's pretty easy to do.

A ruffle manicure! Basically you just have to gather a bunch of different nail polishes, paint your nails all one color as a base and then just make horizontal rows of overlapping dots.

Here's the polishes I used:

From left to right we've got Maybelline Color Show Amethyst Ablaze, Nina Ultra Pro Pretti Pink, Nina Ultra Pro Blu Blaze, Julep Niecy, Julep Blake, and Wet n Wild Tickled Pink.

I used Tickled Pink as my base.

I'm really pleased with how these turned out, even my right hand!

Hope everyone survives their Monday :)

Yellow Pinstripe Nails

Good morning! I've got a bright cheery manicure to kick off this Friday morning.

Yellow and white pinstripes.

What is this beautiful yellow polish, you ask? Julep Blake. I always get a lot of compliments when I wear this color. I'm not a big fan of yellow, but I do think this color is quite pretty.

For this manicure I just did two coats of Julep Blake and then used Sally Hansen French Manicure Natural White to paint on the white stripes.

I freehanded the stripes and although you can kind of tell for some of them, I think they turned out pretty good overall.

I realized the picture above is almost identical to the first picture, but they're different! If you look closely...

Oh well. Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Nail Fail

I'm not perfect. And neither was this manicure I attempted.

Not even in the least bit... and it took forever to do...

Shield your eyes! Run away in fear!

Pretty much a train wreck. I tried to make my middle finger unique from the others. You can see for yourself how that one turned out.

I did, however, like how my thumb turned out!

If only they all could have turned out like that.

I decided to do a different design on my right hand after seeing how my left hand turned out.

This hand was bearable, but ultimately I just wasn't satisfied. It was just an off day for nail art for me.

In case anyone was wondering, the polishes used for this mani were Julep Kate and Milani Disco Lights (featured in the pictures).

Let's hope my next mani turns out better!

Gold Glitter Chevron Nails

Today I have a guest pair of hands. My lovely roommate Caitlin who has the tiniest nails ever.

But even tiny nails need polishin'.

This picture is weak. The flash made the glitter look kind of patchy. It looks much better in real life.

Anyways, I started off with two coats of Pure Ice Creme Flirt Alert.

Then I just used scotch tape to make the little pyramids. The polish used for those was Orly, but I'm unsure if it actually had a name or not. I couldn't find one on the bottle.

Here's a picture of her nails without the flash. I know it's blurry but I feel like it better represents how the nails actually look.

Gotta wake up in 7 hours, goodnight !

Rose French Manicure

Killer Nails- Rose French Manicure Sorry that I've been MIA for the weekend! It was my roommate's 21st birthday so I haven't had a free moment to redo my nails.

I know I did roses not too long ago but I saw this twist on rose manicures that I couldn't resist.

A rose french manicure! I would suggest clicking these to see them bigger so you can see the detail of the tiny little roses.

This was a pretty quick manicure. I applied 2 coats of Julep Lynn to begin.

I love this color, it's such a nice subtle pink. And it's got some orange tones to it. Love love love.
Then with a dotting tool, I applied Rimmel London Stiletto Red to the tips of my fingers. Sinful Colors Easy Going was the accent for the roses and Relvon Posh for the leaves.
I've totally been digging the florals lately. I need to start doing more fall appropriate nails!
Maybe when it starts getting colder I'll be more inspired.

Daisies and Stripes

Killer Nails- Daisies and Stripes I can't believe I'm writing this post so late, today has been way too busy!

Let's get right down to business. I've been wanting to do another floral pattern and I had sunflowers in mind (my favorite flower) but these turned out more like daisies in my opinion.

Pretty darn cute, if ya ask me.
I started out with two coats of Wet n Wild Tickled Pink and threw some topcoat on that to make it dry quicker.
Then I set to painting my little flowers. For them, I used Julep Blake and Sally Hansen French Manicure Natural White. I tried to make the placement different on each nail. I think my middle finger is definitely my least favorite though. The flowers peeking in the nail is much cuter to me.
For my left hand, I decided to do something different. My roommate's boyfriend suggested stripes so I ran with it.
I love the way this manicure turned out! It's super girly and fun. The pink and yellow also compliment each other really well.
My mismatched (yet matched) hands.
Thanks for reading! :*

Egyptian Nails

Killer Nails- Gold and Black Egyptian Manicure Okay, so in all actuality, these nails have nothing to do with Egypt. But the color combo reminded me of Egyptian Pharaohs so just roll with it.

Simple, yet elegant.

I didn't take pictures during the nail painting process. Much too lazy for that today! I started out with two coats of Revlon Gray Suede. The black was done with Wet n Wild Black Creme and the gold is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden.

This is what I originally intended for the nails to look like, but I felt like they looked way too bare.

So I got out my dotting tool and added some extra gold accents.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out. I usually try to match my outfit to my nails so I like that these will match well with almost anything.

Until tomorrow, xoxo.

Purple Dream

Killer Nails- Purple Dream I love doing gradients. And dots. Because they're both so simple and look so great. So today's manicure is a combination of both!

I decided to do a purple gradient because I've been considering entering Chalkboard Nails Nail Contest and choose to play around with 'cool' colors.

For this gradient I used Maybelline Color Show Metallics Amethyst Ablaze, Nina Ultra Pro Pretti Pink, and Love & Beauty Purple.

I felt like it needed a little more pizazz, so I added white dots down the center with Sally Hansen French Manicure Natural White.

My roommate said this gave them a 'tribal' feel. I think they draw more attention to the different colors in the gradient, which I like.

I'm not sure if I'll end up entering this design into the contest, or if I'll come up with another. I'll have to sleep on it!

Thanks for stopping in, lovelies.

FSU Nails Take Two

Killer Nails- Gold Glitter FSU Seminole Nails Ah, game day once again. Garnet and gold nails once again.

The base for these is Revlon Raven Red. I only did one coat because I knew I was only going to keep these nails for game day. I think it shows a little on the tips, but no biggie.

Then I painted on some Milani Gold on the tips to really give this manicure some glitz.

Simple and quick game day mani. The Florida State Seminoles dominated again! Even with the rainy weather. Go Noles ;)

Starfish Nails

Killer Nails- Starfish Manicure TGIF! So today I want to show you this super cute starfish manicure I accidentally did one day. The only problem is that I didn't get any pictures of it on a good quality camera. So excuse my pixely blurry pictures!

You can still see the adorableness, right?

Originally I painted all of my nails with Julep Kate and was trying to do a swirled manicure with Julep Niecy but it was a complete mess and the only nail that turned out good was my pointer finger where a little starfish had appeared.

So I just rolled with it and left my pointer finger and painted the rest of my nails Niecy.

On my left hand I decided to put the starfish on my ring finger.

Definitely need to redo this manicure and purposefully add the starfish next time.

My First Cheetah Nails

Killer Nails- Blue and Pink Cheetah Print Nails I've been a bit uninspired with my nails lately. I've had a million things on my plate and am still trying to balance school with everything after my summer off.

I've been wanting to do cheetah nails for a while, but have been too chicken to despite hearing about how easy they are.

So today, I just went for it.

Far from perfect, but not too shabby, huh?

I wanted these to be fun, bright colors so I started out with a coat of Love & Beauty Blue (still not really sure if this polish has an actual name).

Then I added some pink blobs in Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Twisted Pink with a dotting tool.

Then with a nail art brush I accented the blobs with Wet n Wild Black Creme. I didn't fully outline the blobs so it would look more natural. I also added squiggly lines and dots in between the blobs. I just got creative and had fun with it.

My ring finger and pinky got a little messed up when I put top coat on, but from far away they're fine.

My favorite finger was my middle finger on my right hand.

Next time, I'll have to try to make all of them look that good!

Flowery Toes

Killer Nails- Red Pedicure with White Flowers Today's post may not be for everyone. If you have a fear of feet, turn back now.

If not, feast your eyes on my cute little toesies.

Aren't they presh? It's just two coats of Rimmel London Stiletto Red and Sally Hansen French Manicure Natural White for the flowers.

Because the Sally Hansen is made specifically for french manicures and has a thinner brush, it was super easy to make the little flowers. Like first grade art class all over again.

Thanks for dropping in, loves!

Florals Over Mint

Killer Nails- Roses Over Mint Polish Happy Labor Day! I hope everyone's off work and enjoying a relaxing day.

Today I've got a super cute girly mani to show you.

Little bitty roses over a nice minty polish.

I started out with two coats of Julep Susie.

Then with a dotting tool I made the bases for the roses. For this I used Wet n Wild Tickled Pink and Julep Lynn. I wanted to do two different colors of roses to add some variety. After I had my dots, I added on some leaves with a nail art brush.

To finish 'em off I added some detail with Julep Niecy and E.l.f. Medium Red.

I love them!! I think I might actually keep this mani for more than two days, haha. But we'll see.

Seminole Nails

Killer Nails- FSU Seminole Half Moon Nails Today was game day, so you better believe I had some festive FSU Nails to rep my team!

Love these babies. And the Florida State Seminoles!

I started out with a coat of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Golden.

Then I just painted on half moons of Revlon Raven Red and threw some Seche Vite on before the game.

I'd just like to say that we dominated Murray State 69-3. Ouchhhhh.

Hope everyone else had a fun Saturday! :)
